Drivers in Eston are being warned of possible delays due to essential gas mains upgrading. Work by Transco to complete the final phase of a 1.5km mains replacement project began this week and will last for four weeks. During this period temporary traffic lights will be in operation outside the Stapleton Arms, in High Street.
ASTHMA MEETINGS: Teesside Asthma Group is inviting sufferers to attend its first meeting of the year, at Newcomen Methodist Church Hall, Mersey Road, Redcar, on Tuesday, at 7.30pm. CHURCH FAIR: St Columba's Church, in Marsh House Avenue, Billingham, is holding a summer fun fair on Saturday, June 29, from 10am to 1pm. Attractions include kite-making, a bouncy castle and a visit from the fire brigade. There will be the usual stalls including tombola, raffles and cakes, and fun-fair stalls such as lucky ducks, hoop-la, wet sponges, tattoos and face painting.
Record amount: A house- to-house collection held in Saltburn for the charity Christian Aid raised a record £1,700 last month.
