Peterlee will have to replay their tie with Bill Quay after the scores finished level.
Replying to the visitors' total of 104 for five, Peterlee made 104 for six which included an unbeaten 40 by Paul Griffiths and 34 from Adam Maddison. Earl returned two for 16 and Andrew Trotter conceded just seven runs taking three overs in an economical spell in the Bill Quay attack.
When they batted first Bill Quay were indebted to Phillips for his well played innings of 39 and for Peterlee Michael Buckingham claimed three of the five wickets to fall for 25 runs.
Murton had nine wickets to spare at Boldon CA who were pegged to 75 for nine by the bowling of M Watson (3-13), Naylor (2-16) and J Watson with two for 14. Chris Milne then carried his bat for 33 and Howe finished unbeaten on 21 as the two youngsters put together an unbroken partnership for the second wicket.
Hylton progressed to the next round with a seven wickets victory at Houghton. Faced with a target of 98 Hylton were pleased that Christopher Allan was again in top form and he carried his bat for 57 while Martin made 33.
Top performers with the bat for Houghton were Tim Bowman with 24 and Craig Bell (20) while for Hylton Broderick claimed three wickets for 22 runs.
Dawdon just had the better for Seaham Park winning by seven wickets following a closely fought tie.
Andrew Docherty (26) top scored in the Seaham Park innings of 77 for seven when Andrew Beer bowled well for Dawdon capturing four wickets for 20 runs.
In reply Dawdon had Stephen Gale (28) and Andrew Stephenson (20) both in good form.
Fred Foster Cup
Silksworth reached the final of the Fred Foster Cup defeating Seaham Park by 64 runs.
Batting first the visitors realised 146 and lost just one wicket as Scott Davison carried his bat for 67 and Craig Neild added 58.
Darren Sutherland raised the hopes of Seaham Park by scoring 35, but eventually the innings closed on just 82. Neild was also in good form with the ball for Silksworth and he captured three wickets for ten runs. Craig Gardner collected figures of two for five, Scott Davison returned two for 18 and Adam Thompson two for 15.
