Durham and District League
Bowburn, bottom of the First Division, pulled off one of the shocks of the season when they defeated leaders, Leeholme by two points and by 79 shots to 71.

This did not dent Leeholme's one point lead for second placed, Crook Glenholme went down by a similar margin at Mainsforth, who moved into third place, five points adrift of the Crook side.
Whilst Langley Park were extending their lead at the top of the Second Division to 12 points thanks to an 8-2 win over Wheatley Hill, the second and third teams met. Third placed, Addison Park moved up level with their second placed visitors, Witton Gilbert thanks to a 70-68 shot victory which gave then a two point win.

Sherburn Village also moved up to share second place following their six points victory at Stockton.
Murton maintained their five points lead at the top of the Third Division after they beat the visiting Wolsingham by 73 shots to 65 and by six points.

* The players in the league wish Ian C Young, the secretary, a speedy recovery after a two days stay in hospital. The problem was caused by a bowling injury to his knee, which will keep him out of action for three weeks.

Darlington Veterans League
Brinkburn Dene are off to a cracking start with both teams heading their leagues. The clash between two strong teams in the A Division saw South Park A beating leaders East Park A 3-1 allowing Dene A, with a fine win at Woodlands, to go top.
South Park B will have to improve to avoid a quick return to Division B whilst North Lodge are making a good effort to make a speedy return to Division A and should lead the table after this week's game against Middleton-St-George B.
