Spennymoor Half Moon faced their biggest test since returning to the league when they entertained the reigning champions, Wolviston King's Arms B.
The Moon managed to raise their game but only managed a point when John Sanderson beat Tony Ford. However in all the other matches the King's experience showed through.
Sid Saxby, the Wheatley Hill Scouts organiser, showed a remarkable recovery from his recent illness and returned to take a singles point for his team at Wolviston King's Arms A. Despite this point Sid saw his team go down narrowly by two points.
Results: Stockton Elm Tree 5 Trimdon 3; Wolviston King's Arms A 5 Wheatley Hill Scouts 3; Spennymoor Half Moon 1 Wolviston King's Arms B 7
