A TEENAGER spent the day with an Army regiment after winning a radio competition.
Galaxy Radio teamed up with six North-East Education Action Zones and Business Plus organisations throughout the region to run a competition giving local youngsters the chance to try out their dream jobs.
When he was named winner, Kevin Jones, 15, of Houghton-le-Spring, opted to spend the day with the 101 (Northumbrian) Regiment, Royal Artillery, participating in the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations.
He was met by Captain Sheri Took and was taken to Newcastle Civic Centre for the Lord Mayor's party, before being invited to watch the parade alongside distinguished guests.
In the evening, he attended the Newcastle Military Tattoo at Exhibition Park.
Other dream jobs on offer were to become the Galaxy 105-106 programme director for the day, to work as a graphic designer in a design agency, or to try being a video production assistant
