A COUNCIL'S decision to proceed with the regeneration of Billingham town centre has been deferred.
Stockton Borough Council's cabinet, which met on Thursday night, heard details of a £25m leisure, learning and health complex that the authority hopes will be built in John Whitehead Park, in Billingham.
The proposed development would include the demolition of the Billingham Forum theatre venue.
Included in the proposal is a new swimming pool, an Olympic-sized ice rink and college.
However, the councillors delayed a decision until an unspecified date, at the meeting in Stockton Central Library
