CHILDREN at a Sedgefield nursery joined parents and staff on a sponsored walk.
About 25 youngsters, aged up to five, from the Cherry Tree Nursery took part in the one-hour walk around Sedgefield, stopping at village shops for customers to contribute.
Nursery nurse Claire Ogilvie said: "Everyone really enjoyed it. We did do something for Children in Need last year, but this is the first time we have held an event like this. We got the idea because it is National Childcare Month."
The event raised money for the Butterwick Hospice in Stockton. Organisers hope the final total will run into hundreds of pounds. The walk is expected to be repeated next year
