NOMINATIONS are in for the Oscars of Yorkshire's tourism industry.

The Yorkshire Tourist Board has confirmed the details of the locations and attractions in the running for awards which will be confirmed at a prestigious gala evening in October.

Winners will also be given automatic entry into the national competition.

Nominations include:

Self-catering holiday of the year: Baille (correct) Hill House, York; Bishopgate Pavilion, York; Beech Farm Cottages, Pickering; Easthill Farm House, Pickering; Gales House Farm, York; Sands Farm Country Cottages, Pickering; Shoreline Cottages, Whitby; Waterfront House, Ripon; Well Cottage, Kirkby Malzeard.

Best newcomer: Fountains Abbey Mill, Ripon: Swinton Park, Masham; The Orange Tree, Pickering; Moorlands, Hutton-le-Hole.

Guest accommodation: Clow-Beck House, Croft; Helm, Askrigg; Knottside Farm, Harrogate; Mallard Grange, Ripon; Moorlands, Hutton-le-Hole; Moorlands Country House Hotel, Pickering.

Hotel of the Year: Dunsley Hall Country House Hotel, Whitby; Rudding Park, Harrogate; The Boar's Head, Ripley.

Event of the Year: Christmas Crafts, Harrogate; Fangfest, York; Festival of Food and Drink, York.

Visitor Attraction of the Year: Flamingo Land, Kirby Misperton; Jorvik, York; National Railway Museum, York; Sea Life Centre, Scarborough.

Caravan Park of the Year: Jasmine Park, Scarborough; Rudding Park, Harrogate.

Conference Venue of the Year: National Railway Museum, York; The Bar Convent, York; National Centre for Early Music, York; York Marriott.

Website of the Year: Clow-beck House, Croft; Helm, Askrigg; Moorlands, Hutton-le-Hole; Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington.
