VILLAGERS are being invited to give their views on an improvement programme at a public meeting on Thursday.
The Burnt House, Esperley and Cockfield Community Partnership wants to hear from as many people as possible living in the Cockfield and Evenwood parishes.
They are invited to a meeting at Evenwood Community Centre, from 6pm to 8.30pm.
The partnership met in Cockfield Community Centre and was told that volunteers had cleaned up the recreation ground. But little progress had been made on an allotment wall and publication of a walks leaflet for Cockfield had been delayed.
The old bus shelter is being demolished and plans for a new shelter are being investigated.
Three information panels on the history of Cockfield Fell are being installed in the next few weeks.
Extra waste bins are being sited around Cockfield, and a feasibility study on the renovation of the community centre is the first step to applying for funding.
Financial backing is being sought for improvements at the luncheon club, the mother and toddler group and the friendship circle.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 9, at 7pm, in Cockfield Community Centre.
