THE region's Territorial Army field hospital is celebrating a win in a national competition.
The 201 Field Hospital, which has headquarters in Newcastle and detachments at Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, and Norton, Tees-side, came top of 19 teams in the Army Medical Services Territorial Army Patrol contest.
The team was tested on a range of activities, including command tasks, advanced battlefield life-saving skills, an assault course, nuclear, biological and chemical warfare tests, and shooting.
The Commanding Officer, Colonel Robert Forber, who took charge in April, said: "Since my arrival I have been impressed with the team spirit, so I knew they'd be in with a chance and I'm particularly pleased with the contribution from across the detachments.
