THREE North-East companies are joining forces to help other firms bring their new products to market.
The Fitstogether Group is made up of Amsys Rapid Prototyping and Tooling, of Sunderland, Omega Plastics (UK) and Tooling Technologies, both of Gateshead.
Amsys makes rapid prototypes, Omega specialises in rapid tooling for injunction moulded plastics while Tooling Technologies makes complex mould and press tools for full production output.
Fitstogether has bought the share capital of all three companies.
Robin Mackie, the group's managing director, said: "OEMs are increasingly recognising the benefits of a single source solution capable of reducing the complexity and increasing the speed of new product introductions.
"The new Fitstogether Group is perfectly placed to benefit from this trend by simplifying project management and accelerating delivery by combining the complementary knowledge, skills and services of the three companies.
"Integration and innovation will guarantee shorter lead times to clients without sacrificing product excellence, giving Fitstogether the opportunity to become a major player in the product development market.''
