EARLY learning youngsters have helped to raise money for play equipment.
Nursery and reception school pupils at St Wilfrid's RC Primary School, Bishop Auckland, launched a fundraising campaign to buy a climbing frame.
The equipment, which could cost £6,000, would be used by children in the early years department at the school.
The youngsters are already benefiting from a new safety surface, which has been installed with money from the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership, the Parents and Teachers Association, the Sure Start initiative and the school.
Last Friday, 66 children jumped on a bouncy castle for as long as they could to raise funds for the new climbing frame.
Reception class teacher Pat Wager said: "It has been a great day and the reception class have really enjoyed themselves, because it is not very often they get the opportunity to take part in this sort of play."
