South Korea's World Cup adventure has came to an end after they were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Germany in Seoul.
Michael Ballack's 75th minute goal was enough to take Rudi Voller's side into their seventh World Cup final appearance although a yellow card for the Bayern Munich-bound midfielder means he will miss the penultimate game of the tournament against Brazil or Turkey.
In what was without doubt the biggest game in South Korea's history, Gus Hiddink's side produced yet another gutsy performance and but for the heroics of Oliver Kahn, they could well have added the German's to their ever-growing list of scalps which already includes Poland, Portugal, Italy and Spain.
The fanatical suppport which had cheered on the Red Devils for most of the match was silenced with 15 minutes remaining when Ballack slotted home at the second time of asking from Lee Woon-Jae's initial save.
In the other semi-final Brazil take on Turkey in Saitama tomorrow.
