A SENSORY garden was one of the attractions at an information event for blind and partially-sighted people.
The garden is made up of flowers and plants that provide interest and appeal to visually-impaired people through their smell, sound and texture.
It was set up at County Hall, Durham, for the Focus in Vision exhibition.
The event offered various activities, entertainment, presentations and information on welfare rights and social services.
Voluntary organisations attended to explain the services they offer, and companies demonstrated the latest products and services including note takers, computer software and special toys for children.
A county council spokesman said the garden would be dismantled and reassembled permanently at one of its respite homes for children with disabilities.
