THREE designers' imaginative take on everyday objects has formed an eye-catching craft exhibition.

With furniture made from concrete and handbags made from jeans, the contemporary display on show in Durham is a break from traditional craft exhibitions.

In the room above Bear Bottoms teddy bear shop, on Elvet Bridge, shoppers can view jewellery and wall hangings by glass designer Rachel Gretton, or photographs and household objects made from unusual materials by Steven Landles, 25, from Belmont, Durham.

Textile designer Linsey Mitchinson, 23, from Broom Park, Durham, is using the exhibition to help launch her own fashion label, Nostic, with her collection of T-shirts, bags and accessories for sale.

She said: "This is the first thing we've done like this. We thought we'd do something in Durham that's a bit different."

The exhibition runs until June 30.
