Police presence: Councillor Sally Anderson proposed that the police be invited to send a representative to council meetings. The council agreed to write to Inspector John Proud, who receives the council minutes, to see if an officer can attend.
Flower delight: Councillor John Coulson said he was delighted the council was planting the flower beds in Crosby Road. But he said the beds were the responsibility of the county council and wanted to ensure ratepayers were not paying twice for the same service. Councillor Jack Dobson said the town council had been contracted to look after the beds by County Hall.
County parking: North Yorkshire County Council has submitted plans to extend the car park at County Hall. Councillor Roy Ashman thought this was an unfortunate loss of some of the green space around the building, but said that there were often cars parked on the grass areas anyway. Coun Hall pointed out that County Hall was not in Northallerton parish but in Romanby. The council decided not to comment on the application.
