YOUNGSTERS on the North Yorkshire coast will be able to use local libraries this summer without having to worry about fines for overdue books.
The initiative in the Whitby, Scarborough and Filey areas will run from July 1 to September 30.
John Dennis, county council executive member with responsibility for libraries, said it was hoped the move would encourage increased usage among young people.
As well as books, the libraries have a selection of videos for children.
