YOUTH worker Joy Winter is to retire from Chilton Community College's youth club after ten years.
Mrs Winter has been well known in the club for the past decade for her arts and crafts classes and organising a popular walking club.
She started working at the college as a receptionist, which she will continue to do, then went on to become a part-time youth worker.
Mrs Winter said: "I feel it's time to move aside and let the new generation step in with some fresh ideas."
Ian Milburn, an auxiliary at the college, has just qualified as a youth worker and will take Mrs Winter's place.
Last year, he organised an event which involved youngsters staying overnight at the college, pretending they were marooned on a desert island.
Mrs Winter said: "I'm pleased that Ian is coming into the club. He has worked here for years, is so good with the young people and has some really good ideas."
Mike Hanratty and Diane Wilson, the other youth workers at the club, joined other staff members in wishing Mrs Winter all the best for the future.
