Spennymoor Penny Gill made a good home win over Spennymoor Hillingdon, who occupy a better position in the league table.
The home side took four of the first five points with singles wins from J. Diaz, S. Brown, R. Appleby and K. Ball with P. Fox taking the only singles for the Hillingdon. The Penny Gill made certain of victory when B. Fulton and S. brown took the first doubles. The Hillingdon showed a late fight back to take the remaining doubles through K. Smith and G. Smith and then their captain, C. Simpson won the captain's game against A. Brown.
Spennymoor Quinns Inn moved to the top of the table by one points from Spennymoor Black Horse, whose result from Coxhoe Red Lion did not arrive on time and so the home team suffered a two points penalty. The third placed team is Spennymoor Victoria but they have played an extra match and trail by four points.
