PEOPLE in Darlington are being offered free diabetes screening tomorrow.
Darlington Lions has arranged the screening, by volunteers from St John Ambulance.
The session, which coincides with Darlington Community Carnival, will be held in a caravan in Stanhope Park, between 11am and 3pm.
The last screening, held in May, attracted hundreds of people and four were found to be positive.
Alan Watson, of Darlington Lions, said: "The fact that a handful tested positive shows it was very worthwhile, because they can now get the treatment they need.
"There are a lot more diabetics than we realise, and it is worth coming along for a five-minute free test to find out."
