THE public will be given a say over options for a revamp of roads through Hawes.
The parish council and the business community have already given their views - coming down against the closure of Main Street and the re-introduction of two-way traffic from the ropemakers' workshop to the Market Place.
Part-pedestrianisation of Main Street was preferred instead, along with a raft of minor projects to make the town more shopper-friendly.
However, leaflets explaining all the possibilities are to be sent to homes across the parishes of Hawes and High Abbotside, encouraging people to have their say.
North Yorkshire County Council will also stage an exhibition at the Dales Countryside Museum, between Friday, July 5, and Thursday, July 18.
Councillor John Blackie, who represents the town at all levels of local government, said: "I'm urging all people from Hawes and the surrounding area to visit the exhibition, study the proposals and complete the questionnaire. They can be certain their views will be taken into account."
Meanwhile, the introduction of 20mph speed limits across the district will be debated when North Yorkshire County Council's Richmondshire Area Committee meets on Monday.
Forest Drive, Colburn, remains the top priority and members will be asked to approve spending to cover the costs.
A lower limit for Richmond's Bargate also remains a possibility, although it is likely to be part of a larger traffic management plan for the town.
Reeth is also hoping for a 20mph limit, although Monday's meeting will be told parish councillors from Preston-Under-Scar, in Wensleydale, have requested the village is removed from the list.
