A CAMPAIGN to attract more volunteers to help at Thirsk's British Heart Foundation charity shop has been launched by the Mayor, Andrew Robinson.
Volunteer coordinator Susan Brown said that although the foundation had 430 shops nationwide with 6,000 volunteers, the Thirsk shop had only one full-time volunteer worker.
Councillor Robinson said: "I realise there are several charity shops in Thirsk and many voluntary organisations, but I'm sure there are some people sat at home who would benefit from getting out of the house to help out for a few hours."
