A SICK dog, who has failed to live up to his name, is desperate for a new home.
Lucky, a border collie-cross, has had problems all his life.
He was abandoned by his original owners and then ended up with a family who decided they could not look after him either.
Now he is suffering from an incurable bone tumour in his front leg.
The four-and-a-half year old dog is living at the National Canine Defence League Kennels in Darlington, and staff there are determined to rehome him.
Catherine Gillie, Manager at the NCDL Darlington Rehoming Centre, said:
"Lucky is a great dog. Unfortunately, his tumour is incurable, but currently it is not holding him back.
"He is as lively and fun as any dog of his age, and it seems such a shame that he cannot enjoy this to the full whilst it lasts.
"Being out of kennels and into a home would mean so much to Lucky. We really hope somebody will give him this chance, before it is too late."
Anyone who took Lucky into their home would not have to worry about veterinary bills, because the league would meet medical expenses.
