PERSONNEL from the police dog section at RAF Leeming have been doing their bit to help some of their less fortunate canine friends.

They have become the proud sponsors of a new puppy pen at the Jerry Green Dog Sanctuary, near Thirsk.

The section donated £200 to the sanctuary for the upkeep of newly-born puppies, and toys to keep them amused. The money was raised by taking a percentage of the boarding fees of RAF families' dogs.

Members of the section have now presented a plaque, which will be displayed on the puppy kennel.
