LABOUR'S three-seat majority on Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council remains unchanged after a by-election.
Liberal Democrat Bill Goodwill has been elected to the seat in the St Germain's ward, Marske, by just 12 votes.
Mr Goodwill polled 599 votes in a 48.3 per cent turn out, ahead of Mike Findley (East Cleveland Independent) with 587 votes, Sue McLeod (Labour), 199 votes, Peter Goodwin (Green Party), 173 votes and Neil Bilham (Conservative), 114 votes.
The election followed the resignation of Councillor Ken Seymour who defected to Socialist Labour last year.
