A COUNCIL-RUN sheltered housing complex has been relaunched following an extensive refurbishment.
Residents of Oak Tree Court, Colburn, now have homes decorated to their own tastes, as well as new kitchens and private bathrooms.
The opening ceremony was performed by Mayor of Colburn and Richmondshire district councillor Peter Wood, who said he was impressed.
The authority's senior housing officer, Gavin White, said: "We were keen to involve the residents at an early stage of the development process.
"They told us what they needed from their accommodation and their input was invaluable.
"We also enlisted the help of local healthcare professionals to make sure that the facilities not only looked good, but were also practical and easy to use."
