HUNDREDS of scarecrows will be among the crowds heading to Croft on Tees, near Darlington this weekend for St Peter's Festival.
The third annual scarecrow exhibition is the highlight of the two-day event, at St Peter's Church.
Scarecrows of all shapes and sizes will be on show, from 1pm today.
Admirers of the traditional farmers' friend will also be able to see the exhibits tomorrow afternoon.
The festivities start with a garden fete being held at Monkend Hall, from 2pm.
A variety of stalls selling everything from cakes to books will be available.
Visitors and villagers will be entertained as they stroll by music from Hurworth Concert Band.
St Peter's Church will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 1pm for people to view floral arrangements.
Organ music will also be played and teas will be served on Sunday afternoon.
A special "Songs of Praise" service is to be held in the church tomorrow night at 6pm.
Admission to the festival is 50p.
