A DARLINGTON primary school has been awarded a grant to help children with special needs.
Red Hall Primary School has been given £3,500 by Ronald McDonald Children's Charities.
The money will be used to buy a dedicated special needs computer room.
Headteacher Peter Boddy said: "The donation will enable us to set up a computer room which will benefit children unable to access the normal school curriculum.
"It will also be available to local residents, out of school hours, who wish to learn new skills and enhance their employment prospects."
The school is due to have the equipment installed in the next few months.
Narinder Singh, of McDonald's, said: "We are dedicated to providing grants to help children with special needs enjoy a full and fun life.
"I'm thrilled that we are able to contribute by presenting Red Hall Primary School with this grant.
"They provide a wonderful service to young people."
