A VICTIM of car thieves is being offered a choice of second-hand motors to drive away in.
Readers of The Northern Echo have offered their own second cars after thieves left Deborah Hadley, of Skelton, east Cleveland, who has three children, stranded and frantic.
Two of her three sons have medical conditions needing frequent hospital check ups and supplies of medication.
Four-year-old Kieran has cystic fibrosis, while six-year-old Daniel is asthmatic, has an immune system problem and a rare blood disorder.
Mandy Peebles, a mother of six, of Guisborough, has been through the distress of having a car stolen and is offering her second car, a Vauxhall Cavalier, to Mrs Hadley for free.
"It's clean, taxed and tested," she said.
"If this lady wants the car she is welcome to it."
John Fynn, of Marske, is also offering Mrs Hadley a Ford Fiesta he owns.
"It has its full MoT for a year. If she changes her insurance to this little car I will get it taxed for six months and she can have it for free. This poor lady needs transport,'' he said.
