VOLUNTEERS are needed to help stage a family music event in the region this summer.
The Tuned In Music Weekend will be held at the Darlington Arts Centre, Vane Terrace, on Saturday and Sunday, August 17 and 18.
As well as performances from youth and adult bands there will be a variety of practical music workshops.
The event is being organised by some of the region's most talented amateur and professional musicians, along with the Arts Centre, Darlington Borough Council and the National Federation of Music Societies.
Although some of the weekend's events have already been planned, the organisers are still looking for assistance on the day, as well as bands which want to perform.
A spokeswoman said: "We are particularly keen to hear from students and young musicians who might be interested in stewarding, and amateur performance groups who will be able to give recitals over the weekend.
"Volunteers can give as little or as much time as they want on either the Saturday or the Sunday, or both."
The event is part of Making Music's Young People programme and is funded by the National Foundation for Youth Music and the Carnegie (UK) Trust to give children and young people the opportunity of experiencing music first hand.
