A RIGHT-WING extremist party held a demonstration at the weekend in protest over a DIY store worker's sacking.
Fifteen members and supporters of the North-East branch of the National Front staged the protest outside B&Q's Scotswood branch, in Newcastle, where Kevin Scott used to work.
Mr Scott was sacked after standing for election to Gateshead council as a representative of the far-right British National Party (BNP).
On Saturday, the National Front showed its support for Mr Scott by handing out almost 1,000 leaflets and waving placards.
National Front regional organiser Paul Hayes said: "We haven't got any links with the BNP but we sympathise with the fact that Kevin Scott is a nationalist."
