PUZZLES, games and challenges are lined up for visitors to a maths and literacy fair.
The Trails and Tales fun day will give children the chance to explore the worlds of Fungus the Bogeyman and The Hobbit, and to visit the sea story of the Rainbow Fish plus Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
The fun day, on Saturday, at the University of Durham, Queen's Campus, Stockton, is sponsored by local companies and Nestle Chocolate. For those with a sweet tooth there will be a variety of activities based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
There will also be a room dedicated to the children's novel by Whitbread prize winner Philip Pulman, The Firework Maker's Daughter, with activities based on the story.
Each room will be linked by a discovery trail based on the Pied Piper of Hamelin.
There will also be an opportunity to hear the choir from the Village School, in Thornaby, performing the songs which secured them a place in the National Music for Youth Festival concert at the Festival Hall, London.
The fair runs from 10am to 2pm. For more details call Janice Cooney on (01642) 397333.
