Teesdale and Weardale search and rescue team is holding its first open day since moving into its Barnard Castle centre last year
Team leader Alan Best said: "The centre was completed last year, with money raised from donations by the public and a National Lottery grant.
"A small opening ceremony was held in April 2001, but because of the foot-and-mouth outbreak, this is the first opportunity we have had to invite members of the public to the search and rescue centre."
Visitors can tour the centre, which is located behind the police station in Harmire Road, Barnard Castle, on Sunday, from 11am to 4pm.
There will be displays of casualty care and crag rescue on the indoor training wall.
