Willington shocked their visitors, the reigning league champions and unbeaten, Old Shildon when they came through to an odd point victory.
The home side had wins from Gordon Parkin, Arthur Goldsborough and Tom Parkin, whilst Charlie Blake and Andrew Aisbitt replied for the visitors.
In the top match of the week Wheatley Hill A inflicted the second defeat of the season on their league leading hosts at Fishburn A. The Hill began with a win from Alan Hall but Charlie Hirst levelled. Ronnie Peacock and Dean Bryden then put the visitors into a winning position and Dave Walker finished it in style with a 40 break. The positions at the top of the First Division now have Fishburn A ahead by one point from Old Shildon, who are one ahead of Wheatley Hill A
Shotton Palms looked to be going well on their visit to Brandon when Paul Hickman and John Armstrong took the first two points. However the home side levelled with wins from Brian Graham and Graeme Jackson. Brandon went to victory when Kevin Sample beat Barry Hall in the decider.
Newton Aycliffe grabbed their first win of the season when they beat the visiting Ferryhill. The only point for the visitors came from Dale Hebdon whilst the home side's winners were Simon Tweddle, Michael Hewitt, Bill Barrigan and Ron Hall.
Witton Gilbert slipped to the foot of the First Division for the first time in years when they only managed one point from their home match against Spennymoor B. The Moors took the first four points through Ronnie Bateman, John Wilson, Paul Biddle and Paul Atkinson. Ian Renwick saved the whitewash when he took the final frame for the home side.
Second Division leaders, Newhouse travelled to Stanley Central and went down by the odd point. The home side had wins from Frank Forster, Jim Dufton and Walter Cornell, whilst Steve Mountain and Ian Dinsdale replied.
Crook Belle Vue moved up to share the top spot with Newhouse after they only dropped one point at Meadowfield. Stephen Hughes took the only point for the home side, whilst Ken Rider, Harold Lomax, John Warriner and Arnold Fleming took Crook to victory.
Langley Park are a point behind the joint leaders after they lost in the decider at Wheatley Hill B. Lenny Thompson put the Park ahead but Wheatley Hill then had wins from Jock Frost and Dave Blyth but Ray Coates levelled the match. In the decider, the Hill's Tony Ellison beat Stephen Renwick.
Fishburn B went two up on their trip to Durham City with wins from Alan Wilson and Keith Binks. However Kevin Smith and Michael Pratt squared the match and the City went to victory when Gary Ward put in a 33 break to beat Winston Hodgson in the decider.
Spennymoor B moved up to share fourth place in the Second Division with Durham City after they edged through against the visiting Sherburn Village. The visitors took the first and last frames through John Bower and Scott Mallaburn, whilst wins from Kurt McCormack, Alan Rowell and Alan Shaw took the Moors to victory.
Willy Nixon put Sacriston on up at Third Division leaders, Crowtrees but then the home side took over. They won the remaining frames through John Hall, Sean Johnston, Peter Laverick and Sonny Hann. This result pushed Crowtrees one point ahead of Wingate, who were without a match.
New Durham stayed in third place with a win in the decider against the visiting Leeholme A. Barry Shaw put the visitors ahead only to see Phil Garr and Gary Bowes push the home side ahead. David Fletcher levelled the match but new Durham went to victory when Tony Thompson beat Ian North in the decider.
Coundon were able to move up level with New Durham after they came away from Leeholme B with four points. Only Mark Brown won for the home side, whilst Ross Hardacre, Frank Nicholson, Dennis Payne and Malcolm Rider won for Coundon.
Hunwick moved up to mid-table in the Third Division when they took the first four frames at Tow Law with wins from Tom Ward, Trevor Lomax, Barry Fleming and Neville Blenkinsopp. Charlie Donaghy prevented the whitewash by taking the final frame for the Lawyers.

Bishop Auckland Cricket Club overcame the visiting Darlington Snooker C team, who are just ahead of them in the fight for promotion.
