A NEW multi-million pound development has been earmarked for Sunderland's riverside.
Print firm the Edward Thompson Group plans to turn its factory next to Wearmouth Bridge into a luxury development comprising 100 flats, a restaurant, bar and rooftop garden.
The development would be visible from both sides of the Wear and would be situated near several other prestigious riverfront developments that have transformed the riverside, such as the National Glass Centre and Wylam Wharf.
The latest proposals also come just weeks after work has started on clearing a site to make room for a £25million multiplex cinema and leisure development on the nearby High Street.
