A CAMPAIGN to help blind and partially-sighted people has been launched by Scarborough Borough Council, which is calling on business to remove obstacles causing obstructions on pavements.
Derek Rowell, the authority's director of technical services, said several concerns had been raised over the issue.
He said officers would be enforcing the council's policy that signs, or children's rides, should not block footpaths.
Mr Rowell said: "It can be extremely difficult for people to make their way along a footpath littered with signs or other obstacles, especially when it is busy."
