The 15th Rainton 10k and fun run took place last Sunday, with money raised going towards the upkeep of the village hall.

More than 200 runners took part in good conditions and the race was won by Alan Stimpson of New Marske Harriers in 32.19.

The ladies race was won by C Humphrey of Harrogate Harriers in 36.58, Darlington Harriers won the men's team shield and Harrogate Harriers won the ladies team shield. The oldest competitor was 88-year-old Reg Aylesbury from Pudsey Pacers.

Monty Munson of Ripon Runners is the only runner to have completed all 15 Rainton 10ks.
