A PRIMARY school sports team has been crowned joint winners of a recent athletics competition.
A scoring mistake at the Darlington Primary Schools Athletic Championships last week put Whinfield Junior School in second place behind Abbey Junior School in the large schools section.
But a recount revealed Whinfield had the same points as the winners.
Janet Cooper, sports development officer for Darlington Borough Council, said: "Both schools have been great about the confusion and will now each have the trophy for six months."
The mix-up means Dodmire School came second in the large schools competition, with Mowden third.
