A NEW exhibition is taking a detailed look at five centuries of art.
The show at the Mercer Gallery in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, highlights portraits from the gallery's permanent collection including paintings, drawings, sketches and sculptures dating from the 16th Century to the present day.
The exhibition is full of activities for children and family groups, including the chance to be a portrait detective, matching up bags of mystery objects to the paintings on display. There's also the chance to put yourself in the picture, and pose for your very own portrait - materials are provided.
The exhibition runs until September 7, and entrance to the gallery is free.
