SIX teams from a Saltburn health club have signed up to spend the day as squaddies to raise money for charity.
The 20 friends, who all train at Healthwise Fitness Club, will scale a 35-foot climbing wall, take part in a steeplechase and be put through a drill during the Carry on Soldier event at Catterick Garrison on next Saturday.
The gruelling challenge has been organised to raise cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care, whose nurses work in the area giving practical care to people with cancer in their own homes.
June Woodall, who has co-ordinated the club's entry, said: "When we saw the leaflet we thought the event looked fantastic. We are all really keen to have a go and to help local people with cancer."
Anyone interested in taking part in the challenge should call the Marie Curie fund-raising office on (01904) 621000
