Stockton Elm Tree came close to forcing a draw from the visiting reigning league champions, Wolviston King's Arms B when they just went down 3-5.
The Elm Tree's points came from Peter Ellis and Harry Williams in the singles and then Harry went on to win the captain's game. The King's B went to victory with singles wins from Brian Dutton, Cliff Shipman and Terry Flett to add to their two doubles wins.
Trimdon recorded a good home win over Wheatley Hill Scouts by 6 points to 2. The home side had singles wins from Alan Short, Dave Butler, George Walker, Joe Lawton and Frankie Barber to add to a doubles point, whilst the Scouts only singles reply came from Peter Kell and a double from Sid Saxton and Alan Jordan.
Spennymoor Half Moon travelled to Wolviston King's Arms A and won 6-2 in a match where the Sanderson brothers were outstanding.
