VISITORS to the Museum of Hartlepool are being given the chance to explore the magic of Aboriginal Art.
About 30 paintings and prints by Aboriginal artists including Jimmy Pike will be on display at the museum at the town's Historic Quay from today until the end of September.
The oil paintings include landscapes and wildlife, and their richness and diversity show why Aboriginal art has established such a strong reputation over the past half a century.
The exhibition is called Songlines, the name given to the ancient Aboriginal tracks through the wild countryside.
Most of the paintings and prints, which are on loan from the Rebecca Hossack Gallery in London, are for sale.
The Museum is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
