AFTER the Party in the Palace comes a Northern extravaganza - the Party in the Park.
For the first time, the gates of Ripley Castle near Harrogate, North Yorkshire, the home of Sir Thomas Ingilby, are being thrown open to thousands of young pop fans.
The line-up for the event, on Saturday, July 27, includes boy band Blue, former Steps duo H and Claire, and up-and-coming 3SL. For older fans, music legends The Drifters will also be appearing.
Music fan Sir Thomas said: "We are not talking about attracting the heavy metal brigade. This is an enjoyable occasion for the head-bumpers and we are ensuring that they can do so in a lovely-setting with complete safety and first-class facilities."
Sir Thomas, who has five children, plans to attend the event in "trendy" gear.
