THE family of a young woman who has not been home for several weeks has urged her to make contact.
Gemma Louise Patterson is understood to have been in the Middlesbrough area in early June, but since then has failed to get in touch with her family in Bede Avenue, on Durham's Sherburn Road estate.
Miss Patterson, 22, is described as 5ft 9in, slim, with blue eyes and long curly blonde hair, which she often wears up in a bun.
Sergeant Graeme Devine, of Durham Police, said: "Gemma's mother is extremely concerned for her safety. It is unusual for her not to have made contact with her family for so long, and we would appeal to her, or to anyone who thinks they might know where she is, to get in touch with us.
"It is possible she is with friends in the Teesside area."
Anyone with information about Miss Patterson's whereabouts is asked to contact Durham City police station, on 0191-386 4222.
