With the fixtures moving into the second half of the programme today, there is everything to play for, with no side establishing themselves as favourites.
Burnmoor remain the only unbeaten side and they travel to Hetton Lyons, who lie 17 points behind. The Lyons retain Paul Riddle, who hit a half century in the win last week but there is no place for Tony Harrison.
The Moors expect to have a much stronger line-up for this testing contest. Martin Thursfield, Michael Callaghan and Gary Brown all resume so youngsters Scott Robinson and Ben Embleton step down.
Eppleton, currently in second position, have received a setback with an injury to professional Jonathan Beukes. The South African has broken a finger and missed last week's victory against South Hetton.
They entertain bottom-placed Marsden, who are seeking their first win. Occupation of the crease has been their major concern and in an attempt to rectify this, they have banked on experience.
Tom Trewhitt and second-team captain Harry Mann are drafted in instead of Lee Auty and Tom Main.
Horden could be expected to make a late assault on the title, attempting to win the championship for the third time in succession. At present they look to be well out of it, but are boosted by the return of three players. Graham Smith, Stephen McCoy and Carl Watson expect to play against Felling.
South Hetton received a blow last week when their usually capable attack was unable to prevent defeat. They travel to Seaham Harbour this afternoon and would anticipate doing better.
Whitburn will be missing opening batsmen Neil Ayre when they entertain Durham City. However, there is better news on the bowling front. Neil Johnson, who had 5-34 in his last game, is set to resume along with Tony Shields.
South Shields entertain neighbours Boldon attempting to avert them achieving a double. They convincingly won the earlier game on the opening day. Front-line batsman Lee Whalley will be a miss for Shields who bring in Neil Dixon.
Boldon's Byron Longstaff who top-scored last week misses out and Phil Randle moves into the Second XI. John Groombridge and Michael Barnes are promoted.
