GLORIOUS sunshine and a host of attractions kept the crowds happy at a summer gala in the region.
Thousands of visitors flocked to Redcar Rugby Club, in east Cleveland, for the Corus Teesside gala yesterday.
The event featured a free-fall parachute team, a riverside gymnastics display, motorbike stunts and a float procession created by ten local schools.
Organiser Craig Evans said the event - in its 26th year - had been a roaring success.
"I think we've had between 15,000 and 20,000 people here - it's been absolutely heaving," he said.
"The weather has made it really. It's been absolutely glorious, and everyone seems to have really enjoyed themselves."
Nunthorpe School took home the prize for best float, with a Harry Potter-themed entry.
