Festival MEETING: The Upper Weardale Music Festival is looking to attract more support and new members at its annual meeting tonight, in West House, Ling Riggs, Ireshopeburn, at 8pm.
The festival staged a very successful masterclass this year and is planning to continue this next year, but the organising committee is open to fresh ideas. The election of festival officials will take place at the meeting.
FUN DAY: The Wearhead fun day will take place on Saturday, July 27, with a procession from the village square to the football field at 1pm. Carnival queen Laura Carrick and her attendants, Chloe Hall and Catherine Noble, will be followed by children in fancy dress. The event will be opened at 1.30pm by Ailsa Moore.
