Sedgefield in Bloom Committee remind villagers that the judges from Northumbria in Bloom will be arriving for their inspection at about 8.30am tomorrow.
They will be judging on cleanliness and floral displays. The committee appeals to everyone to help to maintain the previous high standards by making sure that their properties look tidy and that their front gardens and pots and hanging baskets are at their best.
HOUSE BURGLED: A pension book, Capital One Visa card and £6 in cash were stolen from the kitchen worktop of a house in Bakewell Place, Newton Aycliffe, between noon and 5.30pm on Sunday.
BRIDGE EVENT: Macmillan Cancer Relief's Durham appeal group is holding a bridge event on Sunday, August 4, at 2pm, at St George's Bridge Centre, Darlington. TRUST EVENT: Prince's Trust volunteers in Bishop Auckland are appealing for items for a car boot sale on Tuesday, July 23, which is raising money to take young carers on a day out. Contact the trust at the Lightfoot Institute, Kingsway.
COUNCIL MEETING: A full meeting of Great Aycliffe Town Council takes place tomorrow in the council offices, School Aycliffe Lane, Newton Aycliffe, from 7.15pm.

BIKES STOLEN: Two Diamondback BMX bicycles, one red and the other silver and black, were stolen from Lime Road, Ferryhill, between 8pm on Saturday and 1.30pm on Sunday.
FORUM date: A meeting of Sedgefield Borough Council's area forum covering the villages of Sedgefield, Trimdon, Fishburn and Mordon, will be held tomorrow in Ceddesfeld Hall, Sedgefield, from 7pm.
