HOLLYWOOD actress Milla Jovovich, considered one of the most beautiful women in the world, has fallen in love with a North-East speciality - Greggs pasties.
Milla, who last night attended the London premiere of her latest film, Resident Evil, was introduced to the snack by her boyfriend, Paul W S Anderson, Newcastle-born director of Shopping and Mortal Kombat.
The discovery came during a stay in the region while on a visit from their Los Angeles home.
"She'd never been up there before," said Paul. "We stayed on the Quayside, went to visit Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle - and, more importantly, Greggs.
"Milla showed a dangerous addiction to Greggs pasties."
Greggs is the family bakery business founded on Tyneside in the 1930s by John Gregg. It now has 1,000 outlets.
Yesterday, the couple were almost late for a London press conference to promote the film after going out to find a Greggs shop.
"We were staying down the road from the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, where the interviews were, and you can't find a Greggs in Mayfair," said Paul.
"We had to go all the way to Victoria."
He added: "I think Milla should be employed as the new face of Greggs instead of the face of L'Oreal."
