DETECTIVES are still waiting to resume questioning a 33-year-old woman whose husband died from multiple stab wounds at the weekend.
Jane Lovegreen, from Greenfields Farm, High Etherley, County Durham, has been kept under observation in Bishop Auckland General Hospital since Sunday night.
She was taken there from the town's police station, where she had been interviewed by police as part of a murder inquiry.
The body of 34-year-old farmer John Lovegreen was found in a cottage he had rented for the past few months at Baal Hill Farm, Thistlewood Lane, Wolsingham, on Saturday.
Police were alerted by a neighbour who reported a disturbance shortly before 5.30pm. Mrs Lovegreen, was arrested later the same night in the Carlisle area.
Detective Superintendent Harry Stephenson, who is leading the investigation, renewed an appeal for help from anyone who saw Mr Lovegreen's car, a green Mitsubishi Shogun, registration number Y5 OJL, which was seen being driven away from the cottage on Saturday evening.
He said: "We believe the vehicle was in Chilton at about 3pm on Saturday and we want to know where it went from there."
Anyone who saw the car is urged to call the police on (01388) 762011.
